Are you ready for the Drive-in theater in Hong Kong?
Drive-in theaters are very very common in overseas countries, but unfortunately not in Hong Kong! After the closure of the one located in the West Kowloon district few years ago, there will be another one available for movies on 28 and 29 Aug only in a newly opened shopping mall in Tseung Kwan O. Let’s share how we could get well-prepared for the drive-in theater and see if we can have a long lasting one in Hong Kong some days in future!
In order to get a good parking spot, drivers will arrive 1 to 2 hours before the movie is scheduled to begin. It’s especially packed on summer weekends. Once set up, drivers will walk around, play games, get to know their neighbours, or do whatever they enjoy to pass the time.
Radio frequencies are used to play sound for drive-in movies. Car stereo can be used, but drivers always prefer to bring a portable radio with batteries. They can place it wherever they like and it saves car battery at the same time.
No matter what type of car you drive, a camp chair will be a good way to ensure that you have a good view outside of your car.
Jackets or blankets
You will get a little cold after sitting in the dark for a while, regardless of how hot it might have been early in the evening. Drivers will always bring something to keep everyone warm after the sun goes down, say jackets or blankets.
